Part 3: Overcoming Silo Mindset in Daily Work

3.1. Self-check: are you falling into Silo Mindset?
3 Common Signs of a Silo Mindset
● Using your own shift’s form instead of the shared form.
● Not confirming materials with SCM before handover.
● Thinking “My job is done” instead of “Is the next team ready to continue?”
If you only think about completing your own shift’s work, you may be working with a silo mindset, even without realizing it.

3.2. Three specific behaviors to overcome it

3.3. Ready-to-use tool: the 5-Question Framework
● These 3 behaviors are packaged into one job aid: "Before you change how you work, ask five questions":
● The 5-Question Framework helps engineers think beyond their own function before making a decision. It helps them quickly check who will be affected, how they will be affected, and whether they need to communicate with another team first.

Question 5 - "Have I asked them yet?" is the most important self-check. Supply Chain is usually the function left in the "blind spot".
